Resumo

Este trabalho determina as relações existentes entre o Estado e os sindicatos rurais, bem como o tipo de percepção destes últimos quanto ao processo de implantação de altas tecnologias na produção agrícola do País. Procura inicialmente traçar um quadro da estrutura sindical brasileira e do papel controlador que exerce o estado corporativista na organização sindical. Passa em seguida a analisar o movimento sindical rural, levando em conta os determinantes estruturais e conjunturais da sua atuação.

THE STATE, RURAL LABOR UNIONS, AND TECHNOLOGY

Abstract

This work aims at determining the relations which exist between the State and the rural labor unions as well as the type of perception of the latter regarding the process of implementation of high technology in agriculture in Brazil. It initially attempts to draw a picture of the brazilian labor union structure and the role of the corporative state as a controller of organized labor. It analyzes the rural labor unions' activities, viewing their performance as a result of structural as well as conjunctural determinants.
