FAMÍLIA E GRUPOS DOMÉSTICOS NA AMAZÔNIA PARAENSE

Resumo

O artigo analisa a configuração de grupos domésticos no espaço rural da Amazônia Paraense com base no intercruzamento entre o debate conceitual e bases empíricas. O estudo foi realizado por meio do método comparativo em quatro localidades no Nordeste Paraense. Observações e entrevistas (semiestruturadas e abertas) foram realizadas com 269 interlocutores no período de 2010 a 2013. Os dados quantitativos foram analisados por meio do programa Sphinx e confrontados com os dados qualitativos à luz das contribuições da sociologia rural e da família, e da antropologia social. As principais conclusões mostram: i) a existência de sete tipos de grupos domésticos; ii) a predominância do grupo doméstico do tipo nuclear em todas as localidades; iii) a forte relação entre grupos domésticos extensos e a disponibilidade de recursos naturais; iv) a influência das ações de políticas públicas na conformação dos grupos domésticos.

FAMILY AND HOUSEHOLDS IN THE STATE OF PARÁ’S AMAZON
ABSTRACT

This work assesses the configuration of households in the state of Pará’s rural Amazon area, in Brazil, based on the intertwining of conceptual discussions and empirical bases. The study was accomplished using a comparative method in four locations in the Northeast region of the state of Pará. Remarks and semi-structured and open interviews were conducted with 269 respondents in the period from 2010 to 2013. Quantitative data were analyzed using the Sphinx program and compared with the qualitative data, based on the conceptual contributions of rural and family sociologies and social anthropology. The main findings show: i) the existence of seven types of households; ii) the prevalence of the nuclear household in all of the locations; iii) the strong relationship between large households and the availability of natural resources; and iv) the influence of public policy actions in the shaping of households.
