RELAÇÕES INTERNACIONAIS, CIÊNCIA E TECNOLOGIA, COMUNICAÇÃO: INTERFACES E PERSPECTIVAS

Resumo

Com este artigo objetiva-se a compreensão de alguns aspectos do ambiente internacional da Ciência e Tecnologia (C&T) e das interações entre seus atores, com base no conhecimento desenvolvido nos campos das Relações Internacionais e da Comunicação. Para isso, realiza-se um breve histórico sobre a formação do campo das Relações Internacionais, e descrevem-se seus principais paradigmas teóricos. O artigo esclarece ainda sobre o funcionamento do sistema internacional e sobre a cooperação internacional em ciência e tecnologia; analisa algumas intersecções entre Relações Internacionais, Comunicação Internacional e Comunicação da Ciência; finalmente, propõe o desenvolvimento da subárea de Comunicação Internacional em Ciência e Tecnologia.

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to understand some aspects of the international environment of Science and Technology (S&T) and the interactions between its actors, based on the knowledge developed in the fields of International Relations and Communication. To do so, this study reviews a brief history of the development of the field of International Relations, and describes its main theoretical paradigms. This paper explains the functioning of the international system and the international cooperation in science and technology; analyzes some intersections between International Relations, International Communication, and Science Communication; finally, proposes the development of the subarea of International Communication in Science and Technology.
