UNIDADES DE TESTE E DEMONSTRAÇÃO/ESCOLA DE CAMPO: ESTRATÉGIA PARA APROPRIAÇÃO TECNOLÓGICA NA AGRICULTURA FAMILIAR

Resumo

Este trabalho objetiva demonstrar a importância metodológica das Unidades de Teste e Demonstração (UTDs/Escola de Campo) como instrumento pedagógico capaz de impulsionar o desenvolvimento da agricultura familiar, por meio da união e do diálogo de pessoas envolvidas, como também de motivá-las por intermédio da comunicação dialógica na adoção de técnicas e inovações tecnológicas, contribuindo de forma operacional no processo de organização produtiva dos agricultores familiares, para alcance de melhores patamares de produção, além de uma melhor utilização de suas propriedades. Para isso, é necessário fortalecer a assistência técnica e extensão rural (ATER) nos municípios do polo, por meio da geração de informações técnicas pertinentes à realidade local, de modo que os agricultores e seus familiares recebam as orientações técnicas, adequadas aos processos de produção e beneficiamento das culturas implantadas, e se organizem de forma efetiva. Associando-se a esse esforço, a Embrapa Algodão disponibiliza profissionais para atender a essa demanda por informações qualificadas nas UTDs, contribuindo para o fortalecimento da ATER.

TEST AND DEMONSTRATION UNITS/FARMER FIELD SCHOOL: A STRATEGY FOR TECHNOLOGICAL APPROPRIATION IN FAMILY FARMING

ABSTRACT

This study aims to show the methodological importance of the Test and Demonstration Units (TDUs/Farmer Field School) as an educational tool capable of boosting the development of family farming, through the unity and dialogue between the people involved, as well as motivating them through the dialogic communication in the adoption of techniques and technological innovations, by contributing operationally to the productive organization process of the family farmers, to achieve greater levels of production, and also a better use of their properties. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the technical assistance and rural extension (known as ATER) in the pole municipalities, through the generation of technical information that is relevant to local realities, so that the family farmers and their families receive technical guidance that is appropriated to the processes of production and improvement of planted crops, and also organize themselves effectively. By supporting this effort, Embrapa Cotton provides professionals to meet this demand for qualified information in the TDUs, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the ATER.
