TECNOLOGIA, COOPERATIVISMO RURAL E AGROINDÚSTRIA

Resumo

Apresenta-se as conclusões de um estudo realizado sobre um projeto de desenvolvimento agroindustrial em Sapezinho, Bahia. Procura-se mostrar os limites da intervenção pública mesmo em projetos orientados realmente para produtores de baixa renda e coordenados por pesquisadores bem intencionados. Conclui-se com a necessidade de reconhecer a capacidade empresarial dos próprios produtores rurais e os limites estruturais do associativismo, embora isto possa ferir a sensibilidade dos técnicos e cientistas sociais.

Abstract

This work presents the conclusions of a study of an agroindustrial development project in Sapezinho, Bahia. An attempt is made at showing the limits of public intervention even in projects really oriented toward low income producers, coordinated by well intentioned researchers. It is concluded that there is a need to acknowledge the entrepeneurial capacity of rural producers and the structural limits of associativism, even though this might hurt the sensitivity of technicians and social scientists.
