CONSIDERAÇÕES TEÓRICAS SOBRE O MERCADO DE TECNOLOGIAS AGROPECUÁRIAS

Resumo

Este trabalho investiga, do ponto de vista teórico, os fatores que afetam o mercado de tecnologias agropecuárias. Identifica como fatores determinantes da oferta de tecnologia: a) os objetivos da sociedade; b) as motivações dos pesquisadores; c) a infra-estrutura de pesquisa; d) a disponibilidade de conhecimentos científicos e de tecnologias; e e) a concorrência organizacional e interpessoal. Do lado da demanda por tecnologias da parte dos agropecuaristas, consideraram-se como principais fatores que a afetam: a) o desejo de lucro; b) o nível do capital do agricultor; c) o custo de oportunidade das novas tecnologias; d) a capacidade administrativa; e) as pressões de grupos de agricultores, consumidores e da agroindústria; f) as condições edafoclimáticas; e g) a política governamental. Por último, analisa-se como se realiza o processo de adoção e de que maneira podem ser distribuídos os benefícios auferidos pela adoção da tecnologia agropecuária.

THEORETICAL CONSIDERATIONS ON THE AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY MARKET

Abstract
This study investigates, from the theoretical viewpoint, the factors which affect the agricultural technology market. The following factors are identified as those determinant of the offer of technology: a) objectives of society; b) motivations of researchers; c) research infra-structure; d) availability of scientific knowledge and of technologies; and e) organizational and interpersonal competition. From the demand side for technologies by agriculturists, the principal factors which affect it are considered to be: a) desire for profit; b) capital level of the farmer; c) opportunity cost of the new technologies; d) administrative capacity; e) pressures of farmer groups, of consumers and of agroindustry; f) edapho-climatic conditions; and g) government policy. Finally, the process by which adoption takes place is analyzed as is the manner in which the benefits obtained from the adoption of agricultural technology can be distributed.
