Resumo

Discutem-se a complexidade e as dimensões da tecnologia em sistemas capitalistas e a transferência tecnológica e a dependência dos países capitalistas periféricos. Analisam-se as necessidades, os interesses e as escolhas tecnológicas para a agricultura brasileira, enfatizando-se a relação entre a tecnologia e os trabalhadores rurais sindicalizados, no campo histórico-político da tecnologia agropecuária no Brasil.

THE HISTORICAL-POLITICAL FIELD OF BIOTECHNOLOGY AND THE UNION RURAL LABORS
ABSTRACT
The technological complexities and dimensions in the capitalist system and the techno-logical transfer and dependence of peripheric capitalist countries are discussed. The needs, the inte-rests and the technological choices in the Brazilian agriculture are analysed, emphasizing the rela-tionships between technology and union rural labors within the historical and political field of agricul-tural technology in Brazil.
