ESTUDOS DE CIÊNCIA E TECNOLOGIA NO BRASIL:UM BALANÇO CRÍTICO

Resumo

Este trabalho analisa a produção bibliográfica da questão da ciência e tecnologia no Brasil, publicada em periódicos científicos na área de ciências humanas, procurando visualizar três grandes abordagens da sociologia da ciência e da tecnologia no Brasil: o problema do "brain drain"; as condições internas do trabalho científico; e a relação entre ciência, tecnologia e sociedade, mais especificamente, entre ciência, tecnologia e Estado. Observa-se que, apesar da significativa produção na área de ciência e tecnologia, estas não ocupam, ainda, um lugar muito preciso no orçamento da União, no das empresas privadas brasileiras, na agenda do Congresso brasileiro nem mesmo na Academia.

ABSTRACT
This study analyzes the output on the question of science and technology in Brazil published in scientific periodicals in the area of the social sciences, attempting to visualize three major approches to the sociology of science and technology in Brazil: the problem of brain drain; the internal conditions of scientific work; and the relation between science, technology and the State. It is seen that in spite of the significant production in the area of science and technology, these do not yet occupy a very certain space in the budget of the Union or in that of Brazilian private enterprises, on the agenda of the Brazilian Congress, or even in intellectual circles.
