INDÚSTRIA DE TABACO, TABAGISMO E MEIO AMBIENTE: AS REDES ANTE OS RISCOS

Resumo

Neste artigo analisamos as estratégias da indústria de tabaco e os dilemas dos setores que criticam tais estratégias ou buscam alternativas ao tabagismo e à cultura do fumo. O trabalho discute, de um ponto de vista socioambiental, inter e transdisciplinar, a história da produção, da industrialização e do consumo dos derivados de tabaco, detendo-se especialmente na teoria dos riscos, além de apresentar o ponto de vista epidemiológico e biomédico. Na análise, propõem-se dois conceitos operacionais: o de rede estratégica e o de rede multifragmentária ou antifumo.

TOBACCO INDUSTRY, TOBACCOISM AND ENVIRONMENT: NETWORKS FACING RISKS

ABSTRACT
In this article we analyse the strategies of the tobacco industry and the dilemmas of the sectors that oppose those strategies or that seek for alternatives to the culture of smoking. The paper discusses, from a socio-environmental, inter and trans-disciplinary perspective, the history of tobacco production, its industrialization e and consumption of the products of tobacco. We give special attention to the theory of risk, besides presenting the epidemiological and biomedical point of view. In the analysis, we proposed two operational concepts: strategic network and multi-fragmentary or anti-tobacco network.
