PARCERIAS DE SUCESSO ENTRE A EMBRAPA E INSTITUIÇÕES DE EXCELÊNCIA NA PESQUISA EM MÉTODOS QUANTITATIVOS

Resumo

Neste artigo sugere-se a criação de parcerias com instituições de excelência na pesquisa quantitativa e uma estrutura administrativa mínima como alternativa para a sustentabilidade de ações de pesquisa e desenvolvimento na área de métodos quantitativos e computação científica na Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária. Apresentam-se as condições que levaram ao desenvolvimento da área na Empresa e, particularmente, a parceria que foi feita com a Universidade de Brasília na década de 1970 e que resultou na criação do mestrado em estatística e métodos quantitativos na universidade.

SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN EMBRAPA AND INSTITUTIONS OF EXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH ON QUANTITATIVE METHODS

ABSTRACT

This study proposes the creation of partnerships with institutions of excellence in quantitative research and a minimal administrative structure as an alternative for the sustainability of research and development actions in the area of quantitative methods and scientific computing in the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation. The study analyzes the conditions that led to the development of this area in the company, and particularly the successful partnership formed with the University of Brasília Foundation (FUB) in the 1970s, which resulted in the creation of the Master’s degree in Statistics and Quantitative Methods in this university.
