APROPRIAÇÃO DE TECNOLOGIAS DE INFORMAÇÃO E COMUNICAÇÃO NO MEIO RURAL BRASILEIRO

Resumo

O artigo levanta dados específicos sobre a presença de computadores e a apropriação de internet no meio rural brasileiro. Ainda que se considere que o meio rural tenha experimentado drásticas transformações nas últimas três décadas, o que exigiu dos produtores rurais uma mudança de atitude, o problema da exclusão digital agravou-se nesse meio. Os resultados demonstraram como a problemática da difusão de inovações no meio rural vincula-se às barreiras de conexão e à questão da alfabetização digital.

APPROPRIATION OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION
TECHNOLOGIES IN THE BRAZILIAN RURAL ENVIRONMENT

ABSTRACT

The paper raises specific data on the presence of computers and the appropriation of the internet by the Brazilian rural environment. Even considering that the rural environment has experienced drastic transformations throughout the last three decades, which has demanded from rural producers a shift of attitude, the problem of digital exclusion has been aggravated in this environment. The results showed how the problematic of diffusion of innovations within the rural environment is connected to the barriers of connection and the issue of digital literacy.
